ConsultDCT is led by me, Dale Checksfield, a professional navigator, aviation educator, and safety specialist with over 20 years of operational experience across land, sea, and air.

My career spans maritime navigation, offshore energy, aviation training, roads policing, advanced driving, fleet management, and strategic leadership roles within emergency, private and public‑sector operations.

This breadth gives me a rare cross‑domain perspective on how people and organisations function under pressure and how to help them operate more safely, effectively, and confidently.

I hold an MCA STCW II/2 Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency, I am a Royal Navy Qualified Specialist Navigator with a post graduate specialism in Applied Navigation, Master of Laws (LL.M) graduate, and a UK Civil Aviation Authority licenced Flight Instructor (SEP & Microlight with Part FCL.945).

I also bring extensive incident investigation experience across aviation, maritime, and land‑based environments, helping organisations understand what happened, why it happened, and how to prevent recurrence.

I founded ConsultDCT to bring this blend of expertise to clients who value clarity, professionalism, and practical, real‑world solutions. I work with commercial organisations, public‑sector teams, and volunteer groups, delivering consultancy, training, investigations, mentoring, coaching and operational guidance tailored to their needs.

Alongside commercial work, I am committed to social purpose, supporting community organisations, widening access to aviation, and helping develop the next generation of professionals in our key industries through my social purpose venture CHECKSaway.
